Icewolf
I've been searching for an active dollshouse forum but I don't live in the US, so all of my houses are from companies based in the UK. Before I post anything anything, I was wondering if it was alright to post about them?
havanaholly
Welcome to the little family. We are here to discuss the building/ refurbishing of dollshouses and their contents, so have at it!! Some of our US members have built Dollshouse Emporium kits.

Icewolf
Thanks. I have enjoyed looking around the forum and seeing what people have done. I must say that the dolls houses over here are quite different. They are usually front-opening and aren't quite as elaborate on the frontage of them. The most common scale over here is 12th scale, but quarter scale is becoming quite popular, and aren't as expensive as the larger scales. I think people like quarter scale because they don't cost as much over here and don't take up nearly as much room. I like quarter scale because I can use modeling finishing products on them. 24th scale is harder to find and there isn't as much choice in styles. I tend to go for smaller houses and have six Dolls House Emporium ones, (it sounds like a lot, but they are all smaller buildings, with either one or two rooms at the most), a Barbara's Mouldings house, and a room box in 12th scale. (I' not working on those at the moment because the flat we're in is too small for them.) I have built three quarter scale houses and the current one I am working on is a 24th scale one. (Those are from Petite Properties - I love their houses and they also do miniatures for railway models now. It is likely that I will be getting more of their houses in the future.) I also have a Lundby house which I picked up on ebay when I was looking for a 16th scale house.
