uppitycats
I was just reading through this forum and saw a post about someone selling stuff on Etsy from an estate (MiniEstate). I didn't know you could do that?! I thought anything for sale there had to be a handcrafted thing...and new...not single items, or used.... So I could set up a page there and sell my excess dollhouse stuff? (I'd give you all a heads up, of course.. )
Mid-life madness
I was under that impression as well, about handmade etc, but there are all sorts of newish and vintage items available that are mass produced. Maybe someone else can tell you what if any guidelines there are for opening a store.
otterine
There are separate categories for supplies, handmade, vintage, etc. You can find the info you need here: https://www.etsy.com/sell?ref=hdr&from_page=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.etsy.com%2F That said, it's not that people selling things that don't fall into these categories are allowed to do so, it's just that they have not been asked to take the stuff down. Yep. Love Etsy, but not sure they necessarily enforce their own policies! Possibly it's just too hard for them to control.
uppitycats
Thanks, I had read the stuff at that link...but was surprised, when I was looking around, to find stuff that I had that I *know* isn't vintage...yet....for sale, there, and got confused. I do suspect that given the volume of sellers they can't police everything, and if no one objects, it stays.
L Swearengin
Vintage is in the age of the holder. What is vintage to my grandkids is new to me. Lol
havanaholly
A gentleman in an antique & gift store in Tallahassee explained it to me thus: if you remember it from your past it's "vintage", and if you remember it in your grandmother's house it's "antique".
shannonc60
Antique is general applied to something that is at least 100 years old and vintage is something that is at least 20 years old.
