I think that they should have posted the maximum of pictures allowed to get more interest in this house, it is a tough market even for bargains

I'm not real impressed with those furnished rooms from what I could tell. In the 3rd and 7th picture, I'm pretty sure that's a plastic Petite Princess table. And while pricy, I think the window in the 7th picture is a Derek Perkins window or Lawbre window. So I doubt the whole building is as unique and hand made as I'd like to see for $3500.

I think it's a lovely building and I like the tile flooring but I noticed that the little black diamonds in the tile seem to be paper stuck on and some of them are migrating. I'm not really a fan of the furniture either, it's a bit hit and miss... For the right price it would be a wonderful addition to a collection but I think the current price is a bit steep. Plus, despite what they say in the listing.. there are some definite condition issues going on.. and general grungy-ness.

Why is this the "holy grail of dollhouses"? It looks like it's made out of colored plastic.

It looks like it's made out of colored plastic. It is someone's "holy grail" but certainly not everyones. Plus, if folks want modern, it seems the Brinca Dada are more elegant. I remember when this was sold by the Met or MOMA - and they even had it on sale. I passed. It IS a lot of plastic. And the people aren't that much different from the fisher price happy family dolls. It just isn't enough bang for the buck, imo. I think it was trying to be more about art/design/kids and less for a true miniaturist.
Elsbeth
A little antique house on etsy: https://www.etsy.com/listing/540928111/vintage-doll-house1930s-dollhousehand It's all chippy paint and falling apart, but I like it. I don't $550 like it, but if I found it for $30, I'd love it, lol. I even like the oversized wallpaper. It is good for inspiration, but it is a bit raggedy, this house.

1martinimomma
Well, well, well.....here we go again. Granville listed on ebay. Looks like seller did their research and placed the buy it now price at what the last one sold for. If someone bids on it, then the Buy It Now option, will no longer be available. Not really sure if I should go for it not knowing if it truly is all intact. https://www.ebay.com/itm/272947130096?ul_noapp=true Sent him an email requesting that the sheets be compared to the schematics to verify all sheets are still in the box. I will wait and see what they report back. It might be sold by the time I hear back from them, but they priced it high, and it's a risky investment without knowing if it is all intact. havanaholly
Smart move. I noticed in the photo with the wood sheets it looked like a part had fallen out of its sheet. At that BIN price it had certainly better be intact!

1martinimomma
Interesting house on Offer Up. They say it's antique, not sure about that. I haven't seen this one before. I personally don't like the window trims on it, but the price is right. https://offerup.com/item/detail/379358147/?ref=Search
