oh I agree on the work put in to it - mostly just the price.  That's a lot for a house.  Colonial isn't my thing to recreate but it has lots of potential.  @Mid-life madness is a colonial lover as well.....Hope it finds a good home as it appears it was built with love.

In the real world, I'd need to put 16k towards an electric car. But I'd love that house!

Thanks ladies! I really hope it finds a good home where it can be filled and played with! If only it were more affordable to ship dollhouses!

You're welcome, Jodi.  I love your Soap Shop and enjoyed watching you build it.

The last time that house was linked I think they were asking $14K.  I still don't think it's worth that much, especially with those sorry little bulbs in the fireplaces.

and seriously, what is it with the bulbs, all the effort, couldn't they have done better on the fireplaces? Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think they used that size flame in the Colonial days.

I love everything about this house.. but those bulbs have got to go!

It's been floating around on the web for ages.. and probably will continue to at that price.

Right - why did they choose those bulbs? And never once upgraded! That will cost them $15,840 with me...now I can only offer them $160. lol. I love nearly everything else, tho. ok maybe I'd quibble over some color choices...

I think they have to admit that they really cannot part with that house.

Here are some houses I like, thought pricing is prohibitive on these:

I find this pleasant and traditional - I'd have loved this as a kid:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Hand-Made-Custom-Lighted-Furnished-3-Story-Doll-House-11-Rooms-51-L-X-18-1-2-W/202044737249

And here's a beach house with an accessory dwelling unit on the property:

And I really like this one - it speaks to the kid in me that remembers getting my first dollhouse at christmas:

I love a good hallway.

These were interesting and well crafted - they look small next to the ruler, but large in the hand photos...not sure how big they are. But as far as dollhouse pendants go - they seem well made.

I'm worried if I wore one, at the end of the day it would be a jumble of furniture at the bottom of the casing. But these are probably more for hanging up, no?

Thanks for the links Carmen. I've emailed the seller, we shall see if it's still available. It's about an hour and a half from me which is about my limit for driving to get a house. :D

Mine is 30 min.

I waited years for my Beacon Hill...but it finally showed up only 10 minutes away, lol. But I do think a wider radius means more houses! Hooray!

Sam, I always loved this house, here you can find the plans for sale I think http://www.woodworkersworkshop.com/store/index.php?app=ccp0&ns=prodshow&ref=R14_3060&sid=0tij82ceg6izedbfi6zm036l953j7shb

also, look how much they are selling this one for!http://www.mcssl.com/store/mydollshouse/catalog/product/f51b4b780f1144f2b92f964c0cc652b2

For $140 it is a very good deal, a steal I would say. It is a very big house, very rare. I would grab it fast if I was there!

Soooo.. It's still available and he said I can come and pick it up next Sunday. :D Does anyone know if standard windows and doors fit the plans for this house?

yay!!!!! those look like standard Houseworks doors ....I certainly hope they are =) So excited for you! what a great catch!

Thanks Susie, I hope so too. I've been busily searching the web for versions of this house and most of them are in Europe oddly.. I think this was a European pattern originally. I have been salivating over people's pictures and wondering what all the possibilities are with such a large house with so many rooms! :D

Yep, those are Houseworks windows (the small one at the top is a Classics, but Houseworks makes the same size). The ones on the first floor are the taller skinny ones: https://www.miniatures.com/Victorian-Slim-Working-Window-P17967.aspx

I purchase those same windows for the ACP Queen Ann Row last week for $495 each and he had only 8 - goodness I only needed 7!  Those slim ones are super pricey but keep checking Ebay and you might luck out like I did.

Hurray! Good catch Sam! I love it! Here is a pinterest page with several of this houses with different windows. I can't tell for sure, but it looks like it could accept the standard windows. https://www.pinterest.com/pin/638314947156020810/?lp=true

ha! clearly I missed a decimal point, I paid 4.95 for each window lol - I don't think I paid $495 for a window in my life size home!

Thanks for the heart attack! I was getting reading to ask you for a house loan if you had that much money to spend on windows! :roflmao:
