I just bought a First Lady! https://www.ebay.com/itm/RARE-UNOPENED-THE-FIRST-LADY-MANSION-1-2-SCALE-DOLL-HOUSE-MINIATURE-SCARCE/153044261074

I passed up this kit years ago and always regretted it. Of course, the one I passed up was cheaper than this. :p And I really don't need it, I have so many unbuilt kits. But I saw it and couldn't stop myself.

Woohoo! Congrats! They are hard to find.

What do you think the bidders see in this one that makes them go $60+ (incl shipping)?

I don't see it.

The listing has been taken down. I guess we'll never know.

Weird - it looks like its back for $25 plus $22 in shipping.

Odd.

This listing appears to be the one I saw earlier (I think):

Really basic stuff. So seeing it for $60 earlier was strange. Even 47 (with the shipping) is odd.

At first glance, I thought one of the items on the sofa was a noose. And I thought "man that is one morbid miniature auction" - but it turns out it was a purse strap. Whew - all will be well!

Ugh! Get those clock hands off that cute house! lol!

If you look at the back, you'd have to gut all the clock parts and replace the lights.

Check this out - the only thing I don't like about it is the clock part! https://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Handmade-Wood-Dollhouse-Folk-Art-Clock-OOAK-Unique/332675346028

I’d buy that, tear off the clock parts and numbers and construct a dollhouse and hinge the front onto it. It could be awesome.

Reserve is off of the Dream Bird House, modern mansion.........I know there is not $500 worth of materials in it.https://www.ebay.com/itm/1-24-scale-concept-miniature-dollhouse-Amour-De-l-exterieur/163083724841?hash=item25f88c2829:g:flMAAOSwkkNbCcm1

Well, I happen to have a thing for clocks, so I actually love it. But the shipping from Colorado to Georgia is pretty high. :(

I like it, too. But I'd hit it with some paint and embellishments, change out those big Roman numeral numbers for some that are more to scale. It would be a great clock for the craft room. :)

No link here but an Ebay story...

Yesterday I received a new-old-stock miniature refrigerator from Ebay. I love it but eeewww, when I opened the box a pungent cloud of mouse dropping smells billowed out from the box! Despite the refrigerator being banned to the outdoors and the packaging discarded, and despite the windows in my atelier (aka: spare bedroom) being left open during the night I can still smell the offending odor :( Oh well, it's a nice little piece and came with a nice handwritten thank you note so all is forgiven :)
