While the jilted part of the story might be fishy - I think they are trying to sell it and $500 is realistic - maybe even high...because the market is tough. And it is unfinished inside. I'm out west, but that wouldn't sell here for $500...it would sell for $200 maybe.

Built Beacon Hill in San Jose for $230:

I'd offer less because it needs work.

I got my built Beacon for $60 and love it.

I saw that on Craigslist last week. The description confuses me... "ALL DESIGNS CUT IN SANTA CRUZ, CALIFORNIA" ??? (Greenleaf is based in New York)

"The house was made as a custom project by professional architect." Do you think the seller knows it's a kit and are trying to talk it up, or do they think it's something that it's not?

It says the windows are "hand carved", aren't those the windows that come with the kit?

Probably more like, "I won this in an unpaid storage locker auction, and I am trying to recoup what I overbid."

I didn't even read the description - lol! I need to go back and read it!

"Hand carved" is cracking me up. I mean maybe hands got carved up during sanding, but boy that is a stretch. When I see this I figure it is a non-miniaturist trying to make a buck.

Just put a bid in on that Granville. Fingers crossed I get it, because I've been wishing hard and saved some of my Christmas money from last year to put towards it!

Good Luck Cynthia!!!! Fingers crossed for you!!!:cheer:

A professional architect might have put the kit together to display in his office, who knows?

The way he has it worded, though, implies that an architect custom designed. Perhaps it was a kit that was customized by an architect but IMO his description is misleading with the intention of getting a higher price

But not going to get it. Beacon Hill was my last 1:12 addition to the fam.

Are you sure it was your last one??? You have a lot of willpower!!!

I love this house!!
