I love this house, not necessarily how it is decorated, but it is so charming on the exterior. Unfortunately, someone has fallen and she can't get up! rodentraiser
Why are the Hofco houses so expensive? All the ones I've seen are at least $400+, even on places like Offerup. I don't get it. I mean, they're nice houses, but not $500 and $600 nice, especially if they haven't even been put together. They're almost as bad as the Bobbi kits being offered for $75+ (IMO, for resale, that's a $20 kit).

I’m sure the quality is nice but the designs are a bit to simple for my taste. To each their own though.. that’s what makes the world go around. Mid-life madness
I think Emily @fov posted this already, or maybe it is because I read about these on her blog.....I just love it. I want to get my mini rake out and clean it up. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Dollhouse-Miniatures-English-Cottage-1-2-1-scale/202525335326?_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20160908131621%26meid%3Dac6bac089851464f94bbc304ebbe6e3a%26pid%3D100678%26rk%3D3%26rkt%3D15%26sd%3D183343115771%26itm%3D202525335326&_trksid=p2481888.c100678.m3607&_trkparms=pageci%3A762b3670-fa49-11e8-84f2-74dbd180b07c%7Cparentrq%3A89d08d9b1670ac807286d5b2fff702d1%7Ciid%3A1

I just realized last night that I was seriously considering spending $240 on a plastic model horse. I had to jolt myself back into a sense of reality. It's a really nice horse, though. (Kelly, quit it!) 23 hours ago, Samusa said: Wait, what?? why would you list the same house on two different sites for two different prices. That's nothing. There's a Lady Kathleen on Offerup (it's been on Craig's List as well) and it shows up as listed in four different sections with four different prices. I think what happens is that if an item doesn't sell at first on Craig's List or Offerup, it's easy to relist the item and adjust the price. Whereas on eBay, once you list an item, it's difficult to end or change an auction before the auction runs its course. 21 hours ago, miniaddicted said: So eBay is set up as an auction with a starting bid, but Craigslist is a single price. With Craig's List, things are much more fluid. People post a price and once you contact the seller, you can always ask them if they'll accept a lower price, although sometimes in the ad it will state the price is firm. EBay started as an auction only site. People would list their items with a starting bid and go from there. Nowdays eBay has starting bids, a Buy It Now feature, or a Make an Offer feature, sometimes two together and sometimes all three together. The horse I was referring to is a Buy It Now, but there is a Make an Offer feature added as well. I was going to offer $200 and see if the buyer accepted. What scares me is I'm still considering buying this horse and one other. The other one is an auction only listing. It has 4 days to go, the price is at $57, and there have been five bids already. Guess what the odds of it staying under $100 are? Ah, well, I'm not the only one out there with an eye for quality when it comes to model horses. I just happen to be the one who can't afford her expensive hobbies. Repeat after me, you guys: "Kelly, you don't need to buy any model horses!" All those millionaires that buy jets and yachts - don't you feel sorry for them? They're so missing out. They could have nice dollhouses and model horses instead and they waste their money on other stuff.
rodentraiser
Speaking of which, I found this on eBay and I was tempted to get it. It's handmade, signed on the bottom and as far as I'm concerned, it's really a work of art. I've seen stuff like this list for over $100, so I think this is a really good deal. I just don't need it or want it (more than I want the horses), so I'm posting it here: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Dollhouse-Miniatures-1-12-Scale-Dry-Sink-Kitchen-Cupboard-Pie-Safe-066/264072606896?hash=item3d7bf434b0:g:KfIAAOSwj5BcBn7D
Lita
I didn’t see this Etsy shop on a search of the forum so I hope this is useful. This vendor on Etsy, miniarthouse, has some beautiful embroidered pillows and many other items. I tried to post a link but it didn’t work for Etsy. Here is a pillow that caught my eye. A bit pricey but I think the artist deserves every penny for this quality. I have no connection to the artist.
Deborah C
Here are a couple listings on Marketplace, I’m surprised there are any decent listings locally I live in such a small town/area. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/505189363310826/ https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/1730906577013541/ I really like the beach house, but I want to build my own houses. havanaholly
Why does the beach house photo make it look like it's just the front wall? It's too bad whoever built that McKInley and finished the inside so nicely couldn't be bothered to take the same care with building it to fix the gaps.

fov
This is beautiful, but pretty steep for an unfinished dollhouse: https://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/tag/d/one-of-kind-dollhouse/6772308909.html In case the listing goes away: "Just in time for Christmas! This "one of a kind" pristine "never used" Victorian dollhouse by Mastercraftman, J. Dolgoff (see brass plate in picture) of "Classic Designs" labelled "Union Street". Has exquisite detailing- Removable shingled mansard roof. Dimensions 42 1/2 inches X 32 1/2 inches x 16 inches. A perfect gift for a child on Christmas morning." The last sentence cracked me up. Who pays $1500 for an (unfinished!) child's dollhouse? I'd never heard of J. Dolgoff so I looked him up, and found this auction for dollhouse end tables, interesting! https://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/custom-miniature-dollhouse-table-1799223506 In other news, here's a really nice Glencroft: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Artisan-Crafted-Tudor-Dollhouse/223279105810
