havanaholly
Mine was from the early 1940s; there could have been design differences over the course of the decade. My windows were metal cut into that diamond pane design, that opened & closed and had no plastic inserts. It also had a night light bulb for light and no hole through the floors. Happy white shag carpet halloween! And this one I really like the floors in - and I think the price is pretty decent. Not a blatant steal, but not unfair for the floors and papering (which I like). I'd have to redo the exterior colors tho. https://portland.craigslist.org/clk/clt/d/vancouver-large-antique-wooden-doll/7001858870.html

mellifera
I don't know, on cold days I might like shag carpet at that scale. It must reach a few inches above the ankle, no?

Bit of a nightmare when you dropped tiny things into it though, or accidentally spilt a tin of pins (like I always do).

It seems like people think it's an antique if it isn't made of plastic. Sigh.
havanaholly
Sometimes I think they use the word "antique" to overprice it.
Mid-life madness
Have any of you seen postings about a book named AN INTERIOR DESIGNER DESIGNS SIX DOLLHOUSES. You could buy her book, but there were never any previews of the pictures etc....I was always curious to see the houses. havanaholly
The book title says it all; she's designed it to be a design feature. $3.5K USD is by her a mark down price? It reminds me of the Treasure Island diorama my Brownie troop made in 3rd grade.
