Lily Build

5 posts in this topic

So its official, i'll never finish the glencroft or the others.  Had a bit of a house fire :(   in an unbelievable stroke of luck (?) I had a lily kit in the trunk of the car, so i guess that's what i'm doing while my house is rebuilt.  I've gone through the blogs, it looks like this kit has a few tricks to it - can anyone remember some things they'd wish they had done differently in a build?   Displaying 20170707_080230.jpg

Hey, Aaron, welcome back! Sorry to hear about the fire. I was going to suggest checking the moreminis.blogspot.com site for guidance, but apparently there's a problem with photos and the entire site is migrating to Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/moreminisdollhouses/. Lucky for you, she is in the process of adding her Lily tutorial.  The universe appears to be smiling on your project. :)

Welcome home, Aaron! {hug}  I have a Lily still in its box, so I'll be watching your build closely.  I'm so sorry to hear about your house fire.  Our youngest son had a tree fall on both sides of his duplex in January and the owner of the other side has done NOTHING towards getting it repaired, so every time it pours down rain (in N FL, which is a whole lot) it pours into the next door unit and under the common wall into our son's side, giving our son's contractor fits.

My lily was not hard.  I did buy super thin wood from Menards for the bent roof.  Made it easier than trying to bend the kit wood. I did some "adjustments".  But that was just my personal preference
