As I believe was pointed out in other posts, people were posting sources for general information and I was not aware that anyone was trying to push anyone else to buy from them.  As I mentioned previously, it is difficult at best to determine the feelings behind a particular post, and IMO it's best not to read into a posting more than was intended.

I started this thread to show case my work and my project. I didn't specifically ask where people had got things from. When people don't accept that I don't want to buy things from a certain seller, but continue to tell me that I should, it gets annoying. Only give suggestions if asked, please. I had it before where people give me sales pitches for things I've not asked for. I respectfully ask the moderators/admins of this forum to delete posts placed after my initial posting. Thank you.

Icewolf, I think perhaps what might be a better option if you are just wanting to show case is to start a Gallery for your project. That way you can post photos and add your own thoughts under it. Typically, when members of the forum start whole discussion threads it's kind of intended as a mechanism to discuss the project and says "I'm open to ideas and suggestions about my project." If that's not what you are wanting to do, a gallery is a much better option as those are treated much more like "Here is what I have done." Unless you explicitly solicit advice in the Gallery, the comments stick to people remarking on the work and asking how you accomplished something.

You didn't specifically say you didn't want to know where people got things from either. I understand where you're coming from, but I also understand what happened as this thread evolved.

This forum is more into sharing than any other forum I've been on. That can be both a good thing and a bad thing. I, too, have had people tell me I might want to do this or I should do that when I've had my mind made up about something (and I can be pretty stubborn). However, I feel that's a very, very small minus in a forum that's filled with so many helpful people. But if you don't want their advice or input, it's also easy to simply say thanks but no thanks, let it go, and move on to something else.

I love that you are posting your work and I hope you continue to post it. But by the very nature of starting a thread, you are inviting comments to your post. I don't know of any way to post a thread and not allow comments. Other members giving suggestions without being asked is part and parcel of being here because people here are as helpful as they are enthusiastic. Without that helpfulness and enthusiasm, we wouldn't have a forum.

While the mods may want to lock this thread, I personally don't think all the other posts should be deleted. Again, I feel this is a forum for sharing our experiences and hints and tips and resources for miniatures. If we couldn't do that, why would any of us be here?

And yes, the gallery is a good place to put your pictures. If you post them there, they show up above the forum and we'll all get to see them, too.

With a gallery, you can disable comments.. so I agree that might be the better option if that's what you prefer Icewolf. :)
