Bronxie
Hi everyone! I wanted to introduce myself and say hello. I'm new to building dollhouses but I've loved them since I was a child. I always promised myself I would build my own dollhouse one day, so last week I gifted myself the Laurel and I started it on Sunday. This forum has been a great resource and I wanted to thank everyone on here. Wish me luck guys! I'm using gorilla glue and my hand are rougher than sand paper right now LOL
KathieB
Hi, Iraida, and welcome to the forum. Are you using the type of Gorilla glue that expands as it dries? You may find a wood glue or even a white craft glue to be more satisfactory.

It expands and end up looking like a blob mess. I will try the Elmer's wood glue instead. Edited September 19, 2017 by Bronxie

I think I tried just about every type of glue on my house trying to figure out which on I liked. Lol Good luck on your first build! I just completed first house and now I am hooked! I can't wait to get started on another!!!
L Swearengin
I have only used Aleene's tacky glue on all my houses . Works great. My first build over 20 years ago is still holding strong

If you apply a thin coat to each of the contact areas, let it sit a few minutes, and then press them together, there shouldn't be any runs. For small areas or inside slots on Greenleaf houses, I apply the glue with a toothpick. Often I run a small bead of glue in the corners where the wall meets floor or ceiling and where wall meets wall. Capillary action draws the glue into the crevice, leaving a nice, smooth joint that I know is solid. 20 minutes ago, L Swearengin said: I have only used Aleene's tacky glue on all my houses . havanaholly
Welcome to the little family, Iraida. I LOVE my Probond! and I usually apply a tad of glue with a toothpick. Some people use disposable syringes.

7Kidsmommy
Ive never used the expanding gorilla glue before. I do however use the gorilla wood glue for glueing on the trim pieces... it seems to hold better than aleenes for the small pieces
