Sneaky cats ...

Heidi, I had to laugh at your picture of Master Chingy sitting on the wallpaper.

Years ago, we were putting a puzzle together on a card table in the living room. The living room had longish shag carpeting, orange, so you can guess how long ago it was. Anyway, the cat sometimes sat on a corner of the table and watched us. We got down to the point where there was just one piece left to complete the puzzle, but we couldn't find it. That danged cat watched us combing through the shag with our fingers for 15 or 20 minutes before she got herself up and revealed the missing piece that was hidden under her paw!

I swear she knew EXACTLY what she was doing!

That picture is funny!! My cats love to sit on top of my magazines while I am trying to look at them. And one in partiacular gets very excited when whe get home from Wal-Mart cause then she can get into the bags.

Oh and we gave up on puzzles due to the cats playing on them. LOL

They do know exactly what they are doing Kathie :D . My cat loves to take my seat no matter where I'm sitting, the computer, the couch anywhere. I'll get up to go get something and come back he's all curled up right where I was just sitting  , and he'll give me that 'thanks for warming it up mom' look.

Heidi your cat is very pretty, of course I love any kind of cat  .

Our cats do this to me. Drives me nuts.

Oh, I am a cat lover too. My Newman has to check out every mini I have in my hand. He also loves the house.

Somehow he managed to turn around IN the livingroom area without getting stuck. Good thing there were no furnishing in the room.

Judi, your Newman looks like my Fatboy.

We have 3 furbabies. When Fuzz Ball was tiny, he found that the rubber on the bottom of the storm door had started to pull away from its proper place when the door closed. Naturally he wanted to play with the thing that moved. It is now about 6 inches long and every time the door is opened, he will wait for it to move so he can make his "kill". He escorts me every morning to feed the fish in our pond and get the paper. I almost fell over him this morning. He will run ahead of me and stop. All 3 are great mousers but lousy escorts. lol

One of my cats, Trinity, likes to sit in a chair beside my chair when I'm on the computer. We have 2 chairs in our computer room just for this purpose. Naturally I have the ergonomic chair. She's usually very content with her chair right beside me, but sometimes if I get up to leave the room she quickly hops into my chair. When I come back to sit down she just looks at me. We never move the cats in our home. Whoever gets a chair first gets to keep it. That's the rule.

LOL

We don't have the room for another chair in our computer room so if Sniffer can't sit on the chair his next favorite place is the shelf right next to the desk, where I keep my fabic for my houses  .

He looks so peaceful who am I to wake him  .

I have four cats, my furkids. So far TabbyGrey is the only one who is hugely interested in the house construction (if you go to my gallery there are several shots there of him "helping" by holding down the wallpaper, checking the strength of the floors, measuring the door openings.. )

There seem to be a LOT of us here with cats and dollhouses. I wonder if there is some sort of synergy there.

Everyones pictures are great! Thanks Kathie

I have three cats. Whenever I am sewing I have to put the pieces in plastic grocery bags and I have to tie them closed. If I do not tie them closed, they will climb into the bag to sleep on the fresh clean fabric that I am working on.

But cats are still great!

Yup...Cats really are something else!!! I am beginning to believe that mine likes the smooth feel of paper on her behind....Magazines, scrapbook paper, newspaper, even plastic grocery bags...you name it..Miss Boo sits on it...I sometimes wonder if she is actually an alien from some distant planet who has come to supervise my every move. She hasn't actually gotten into my Orchid, but she does seem to like peeking at me thru the windows...My last cat Manina, was fascinated by my sewing machine...Every time I sat down to sew, there she was...watching my every move...I half expected to come home from work one day and find her sitting at the machine sewing herself a ball gown or something...I don't think I would have been surprised at all....

I used to have an orange tabby who was obsessed with paper. As a bit of entertainment when friends came over, we would take out a piece of paper and write the cat's name (Abigail) with a large "X" in the center of the page and then set it somewhere on the floor. Without saying a word to Abigail, she would get up from wherever she was, walk right over to it and sit on the "X". We could pull it out from under her and set it down somewhere else, and she would go sit on it again.

Now, we have a cat who thinks he's a dog. When friends come over, we get him to play fetch or chase his tail. He is the only cat we've had who will actually bring a toy back to be thrown over and over. They are such great entertainment!

I've thought of a couple more cat stories ...

When I picked up the cat at the vet after she'd been spayed, I had to leave her alone in the apartment for a couple of hours while I went back to work. When I got home, she was sitting in the middle of the living room, dead center on the orange shag carpet, with all of her little toys lined up in front of her. Some were toys that had gone missing months earlier! It was as if we'd rocked her world beyond belief, and she figured if we were going to send her away again, she'd have all her belongings ready to pack!

Another time, she stayed withy my parents while we were away for a week or so. My mom reported that the cat had found a tiny scrap of red flannel, maybe a half inch square, and had carried it around with her all week, putting it down only long enough to eat. She had it in her mouth when we got back. It looked like a tiny red tongue hanging out.

I LOVE all of your cat stories :)

Two weeks ago, I almost came home from the grocery store with a kitten. They had a big huge bus for people to "Adopt a Cat". I was so tempted but alas, we just don't have the space or organization around here. I can't wait to move so I can finally have the right enviornment for one.
