shamrockgirl18
I know we all get inspired from photos, books, movies, others' creations, our own stories. . . But recently I have found myself itching to make a dh, or at least a small scene, based on a song. I've been listening to Fleetwood Mac alot lately, and I think the song Rhiannon is so beautiful and haunting, and has suc h great imagery in it- I think it'd be cool to make a witch's cottage. Not a typical Halloween-y witch, but like a modern type of sanctuary, with gauzy curtains and a luxurious bed with velour blankets. . . the decorations would all be celestial in theme. . . I have my little gypsy scene, and it kind of goes with the Fleetwood Mac song "Gypsy", (lace and paper flowers, etc.) but I didn't intend for it to happen- I didn't realize it until I heard the song one day and paid attention to the lyrics. Just got me thinking if anyone had ever created a dollhouse or scene because of a song.
havanaholly
Not really, but sometimes I sing whilst I'm building; I sang "99 Bottles of Beer on the Wall" when I built the Glencroft.
shamrockgirl18
I guess I'll have to keep the idea in the vault for a while- there is currently a dollhouse moratorium in place at my house: I haven't been able to use my dining room in "can't remember how long". . . Any new projects have to be fairly small, or able to be stored away easily. . .

Elsbeth
I thought for sure there would be a "Hotel California" dollhouse out there, but alas, nothing!

There is a wind-up music box thingy hidden in the landscaping that plays Somewhere Over the Rainbow. http://www.greenleafdollhouses.com/forum/?app=gallery&module=gallery&controller=browse&album=4904

I showed that to my husband, and he thought it was really clever, too.

I posted a few weeks ago about using my "lost " house to do The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, I think all the fancy lingerie, the chickens and the décor would be fun to do and it could be done tastfuly!!
