Greetings from the Keystone State

Hi everyone! I am a newly married (!) 35 year old from Pennsylvania. I rekindled my love for the world of miniatures in the past few years. I was legitimately obsessed as a kid and spent every allowance dollar at the local miniatures store. (It's no longer around, boo!) It took me several years to furnish this dollhouse in the photo that my grandma and aunt made for me. (For some reason, the guy/dad is missing his pants--a ghost in my attic must have taken them sometime in the past two decades--so I seated him in the back so he doesn't scandalize anyone.) I am enjoying learning from everyone on this forum so far! I'm not super crafty, so I went online to check out miniature stores since the closet brick and mortar requires me to cross state lines. I have been building websites for Fortune 500 companies for more than a decade and felt like many look rather dated and it was hard to find what I wanted. So I decided to build a site full of fun products and great content. I am early in the journey but am enjoying the challenge and learning more about the world of miniatures. I am here to learn and definitely won't be hawking away! Thanks for having me, looking forward to learning from your years of experience. :-)

Welcome to the forum MiniMaven.

I agree with you about the some of the web-sites. I think many of the miniature businesses are mom and pop sites who don't have the funds to upgrade their sites, or they might be a little tech-challenged.

We love pictures around here, so post some more of your projects soon.

Well, the 92 yr old gal that owns the closet little shop to me doesn't even have a website- for obvious reasons! LOL

Welcome from a fellow Pennsylvanian!

Hi, jbnmini! Where in PA are you? I am in Erie...the icebox of the state!

Thanks for the welcome! I had a talented friend design my logo, it is attached. My grandma's favorite color was aqua, so I chose that as the main color to honor her memory.

Welcome to the little family.  Have you considered making a pair of pants for your man?  It's really not that complicated:

I should just do it already! I certainly won't want to pass the pantless man onto a child in my life....

Welcome Mini Maven! Saw you had dollhouse museums listed on your site.  I see the Kathleen Savage Browning Miniatures are missing from you list and well worth a look. I think this is a Cadillac of miniature collections with the crowning jewel being the Spencer House. It was made by Mulvany and Rodgers. The childhood home of  Diana Spencer Princess of Wales. This is a video about the house. It's been a while since I have viewed the video but I believe the Spencer House was made and furnished in Great Britain for the tune of  $250,000. Yes the silver is real sterling in this mini. Hope you enjoy this as much as I do!
