Bababoris
Happy New Year everyone! My name is Boris and my son Ethan and I just purchase our first doll house. After looking around we settled on the Vermont Farmhouse Jr from Real Good Toys. We've gone over instructions several times and we think we have all of the tools necessary to complete it. But I am sure we'll have a ton of questions along the way. Want to thank everyone in advance for helping us out on our project! havanaholly
Welcome to the little family, Boris and Ethan. The first thing I do when I build a kit, after I've read over the instructions a couple of times and checked that everything that's supposed to be there, is, is to grab the roll of painter's tape (or masking tape) and put the kit together without glue, using the tape instead. We call this the "dry fit". In addition to previewing how the house will look when built, it allows for any needed fit adjustments, allows me to be sure I understand the instructions, sometimes helps me find a way that works better for me than the instructions, and I can see if there are any places I will never be able to fit my hands in to decorate once I've committed to glue, so need to decorate first. The house usually talks to me during this process, so I will know how to decorate it as I build it.
