KathieB
Beautiful. It will be absolutely stunning when upholstered.

Try to make your seams at the corners rather than wrapped like a package. In other words cut the fabric like a cross and glue each corner together from the inside.

This is what I ended up doing since I had no idea what the back looked like.

Keifer
Thank you everyone for your kind words, tips and encouragement. I want you to know it does not go unnoticed or unappreciated. As far as my next furniture piece...I’m not sure but I can tell you it won’t be a chair. I need a little break from chairs and I want to concentrate on my house build for a bit.

havanaholly
I have John Davenport's book and Ferd Sobol was kind enough to send me a copy of his book: https://soboleditions.bigcartel.com/product/the-fse-first-editions
Keifer
Whoa, I had to resurrect this thread from the 9th page, I didn’t think it has been that long. Anyways here is the kitchen stool for my latest house. Nothing fancy but I think it turned out all right.
Lita
Nothing like taking a close-up photo to find any small issues. Usually after you've posted it. But I think these look great!

Debsrand56
These are beautiful; quite elegant actually. I love the tushy grooves. I don't know how you cut the curved pieces so cleanly!
Guest
gorgeous Keith! I agree with Deborah.. not sure how you cut those legs so cleanly. Especially considering your recent woodworking injury!
Keifer
Thanks a bunch ladies. Don’t tell anyone but the secret is in the sanding. I cut those curvy legs on my scroll saw (a bit safer) then did lots of sanding.
Keifer
Another thread resurrected...the purpose is to share the sofa construction for the great-room in my current house build. I wanted something modern and curvy. Curvy can be a challenge when it comes to mini upholstery, so I thought I would break it down into sections. Every upholstered chair or sofa/couch starts with a shell, mine is from plywood.
Keifer
I went with a stretchy fabric as I thought it would be helpful in the curvy areas. A solid color was a must as a pattern would get distorted.
