Luanne
I thought my tree stump needed to be more gnarly. A bit concerned about the end result might not look like what I have in mind.... In the mean time, what do you see as the right roof line for this? Thank you for your suggestions. https://www.flickr.com/photos/54971771@N04/albums/72157689181998821
KathieB
Your tree stump is wonderfully organic. The detail is both delightful and amazing! However, the red roof ideas/shapes don't seem to be in the same vein.Too "manufactured". I like the images farther along in your album that have moss on the "roof". That seems more in keeping with the ambiance of this lovely little stump house. Maybe a flat roof that doesn't overhang as far as the first one (which to me resembled a French beret!)? grazhina
Ask yourself, If I were to move into a nice dry hollow tree stump, would I feel like climbing around and putting a roof on it? I'm with Kathie, I like the mossy stump top pics much better.
havanaholly
All the tree stumps I've seen, whether cut or broken, were full of dead leaves & moss or else just lovely wood grain.
Keifer
If you are dead set on a roof, I vote for the 2nd one that looks like a gnome hat. Keeps it whimsical looking, kinda like a found thing.

Luanne
Oh wow, I didn't realize I had the right roof all along. You guys are awesome. I will give the woodgrain idea a try since this would be a new test for me. Thank you for your kind words and suggestions. To be continued. havanaholly
Start hiking; you will see all sort of wonderful, real things. Another possible tree stump roofing solution could be a couple of nice tree ears.
