Question about wiring

Hi there,

I am brand new to the world of miniatures and dollhouses. I found an amazing deal on a dollhouse and have decided that I would like to electrify it and have done a lot of research.

I will be going with the tape wire system. My question is:

Do I have to get 'dollhouse' approved power supply and connector? (I was thinking of the CR2S 2 amp 12 v power supply and connector)

or can I get any 12 volt 2 amp DC power supply like this:

https://www.amazon.ca/Kuman-Adapter-Regulated-Display-Raspberry/dp/B01H05QVVE/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1538112462&sr=8-4&keywords=2a+12v+power+supply

and connectors like this soldered to the tape wire?

Thank you

I agree with Sable....CR2s  is awesome. He is also so helpful.       https://www.cr2s.com/

I don't know enough to say whether your idea will work. I do know that the electrical can be a real pain in the rear. I don't think I would anger the electrical gods by using a different transformer.

I only use CR2s supplies.  I had a problem with the Granville lighting and Carl was so helpful in troubleshooting it.  Here is a pic of the house lit up.  This house has 88 light bulbs and I have two electrical connections to the house, one on the roof and one on the foundation, both attached to the same 6 watt power supply.  His supplies are top notch.
