fov
I came up with an inexpensive solution for backsplash tile in my half scale Victorianna and thought others might want to try it. These tiles are made from punching out gemstone scrapbook paper with a Fiskars border punch. The squares are 1/8" which is 3 inches in half scale or 1.5" in 1:12 scale. I painted a piece of 1/16" wood beige to look like grout, glued on each "tile" individually, and then painted the tiles with clear Gallery Glass to make them shiny. There are more pics and details on my blog: http://www.emilymorganti.com/blog/?p=14099 (Credit goes to 1 Inch Minis for the idea to use the punch!)

havanaholly
They turned out great, Emily! 1 hour ago, chapchap73 said: Wonderful! Also, where did you get that fridge? It's perfect in there. Isn't that the fridge that started the discussion about the shiny tape to get that brushed steel look?
fov
Thanks everyone! Gluing on the tiles was a little tedious, but no worse then gluing on shingles one by one. I made the fridge with stainless steel contact paper, here's the original thread: http://www.greenleafdollhouses.com/forum/?app=forums&module=forums&controller=topic&id=42447 And more info on my blog: http://www.emilymorganti.com/blog/?p=13891 I originally intended to make a French door fridge but I had this piece of wood from a kit that was better suited for a single door with a freezer drawer, so I did that instead. Unfortunately I ended up with bulges at the top and bottom, it's not super noticeable but it's bugging me, so I might take it apart to fix that.
