Hi! I’m Summer - from the great state of Texas! We actually live just North of Fort Worth. I’m very new to the world of miniatures!  I’ve always been obsessed with them, but raised 3 boys...so I just never felt I could do a dollhouse... well, now I have 5 granddaughters!! and a client I was working with (I’m a Realtor!) was going to pitch this awesome dollhouse when they were preparing to sell their home- I said Noooooo!!  I want it! -so I decided to rekindle an old dream!  It was in pretty bad shape - but I have it all re-wired (lights are working!) and the exterior is almost finished! I can’t wait to start on the inside!! And I can’t wait for my girls to come every time, so they can see the progress as I go along!

Welcome Summer!

I am hoping, someday , I will have a granddaughter too! I still have a good 5 years before there is even a possibility.

Congratulations on the electrical job! That is the biggest bugaboo for me.  Do you know what model your house is, or was it a scratch build?

We all love pictures here, so share some when you have a chance.

Hi Summer I'm also in the My Three Sons group. Probably like me though you may have built lots of lego buildings and forts.

I have no Grandchildren yet but love building dollhouses. I'm impressed you have managed lighting I haven't even tried the 12 volt style Im using the LED's that I wire and convert old lighting to.

I see a long future in dollhouse with 5 granddaughters. Have fun

Welcome Summer!  I have 2 adult children living in Dallas and visit frequently! There's a great miniatures show in Dallas, this year it's in June!  Maybe you'll be able to make it! I just finished a dollhouse tonight!  Its really nice that you got presented the opportunity to save that house.  Hope you'll post pictures after your first 5 posts...4 more to go!  Welcome to the forum and looking forward to seeing your progress!
