Diana Dollhouse

Hi all, I am working on the laser cut 1:12 Diana.

So far the kit is going together really well with no issues.

Although I have noticed that the stair case doesn’t seem to have any kind of side railing? I don’t think it’s up to building codes because tiny people could fall straight off the side!

Has anyone built their own stair railing into the Diana?

I swapped out the Greenleaf staircase for a Housework’s one with a hand rail in a 1:24 scale Diana I did a couple of years ago. The Diana I’m starting on now I’m building a spiral staircase for and it doesn’t have a rail so far. :)

I've done what Holly suggests by adding a rail on the wall for staircases without a rail in other houses. Depending on your interior decor, you could add a bent wire as a rail or run a heavy wire between end posts. You could create a closed in staircase for part of the wall, eliminating the need for a rail and could use a clear or opaque material for that section. There are lots of materials you could use to act as an enclosure as well, such as thin poles, lattice, screen panels or something fancier.

I haven't done the Diana, but I've seen lots of kits that don't come with rails, not hard to add, you just need to find one style you like and attach them....I purchased laser stair kits and installed them on my SF555 and it was the best decision I made for that house!
