maudeflanagan
I just wanted to say hello. I am a dollhouse and miniatures fan and have been most of my life. I help my dad build my childhood dollhouse and have dabbled in room dioramas since them. I've just purchased a Mckinley kit from eBay and I am looking forward to receiving it and building it. I will be surfing through the forum while I anxiously wait.

havanaholly
Welcome to the little family, Betsy. Do NOT use hot glue to build your McKinley, carpenter's wood glue is best, especially if you plan to hang it on a wall.
dollshousemouldings
Hi, welcome to the forum. I’m fairly new here myself and so far, not got too involved. What I can say from viewing the projects all these talented people are creating, you will get lots of inspiration and knowledgeable advice if needed. Enjoy! I didn't realize using hot glue for the construction was a thing. I definitely plan to have it on the wall, so I will use wood glue for sure. Is there a trusted brand I should use, or just any old wood glue?
havanaholly
I'm partial to Elmer's Titebond, but I have used Probond successfully, too. You cannot have too many clamps, and masking or painters' tape is handy for doing dry fitting.
