The screwdriver is to open the knife handle to put in nice, new blades; the least dullness to a knife blade and you stand a better chance of slicing body parts instead of matboard.

Yes I buy my matboard from the scraps bin at my local framing shop too.. that way I know I’m getting art quality.  The smaller off cuts are more than big enough for most Miniature applications and a more manageable size than those huge sheets you get in the store. Cheap as chips too ☺️

LOL ...of course. You threw me by being specific about it being a Phillips head. My utility knives use slots, not Phillips head.

Lucky you!  Our utility knives have always had a phillips head screw holding the handle together!  I like my little offset screwdriver because one end is a phillips head and the other i the traditional flat head.
