Katr
Good afternoon! I found a doll house and a yard sale very very well made one. I am planning on restoring it but I’m trying to figure out how old it is. Please see pics and see if you can help.
fov
I edited out your link and am posting the picture here as an attachment. When I first clicked it on my iPad, iCloud prompted me to log in to my Apple account, which could be concerning to some of our members. I'm no expert, but I'd guess between 1900s and 1940s. That's just a gut feeling based on other antique dollhouses I've seen pictures of, don't take my word for it!
grazhina
My guess is 1940's, but possibly 1930's on account of the windows.
rodentraiser
Have you checked the bottom of the house for any signatures or names? It's not familiar to me but you know, the first thing I thought of when I saw it was that it was one of those dollhouses made in England. Katr
Thanks everyone! I did look for a signature but if it was there it’s already wore off. The whole bottom is in rough shape.
Sable
Test it for lead paint before you do any sanding. You can get lead paint testers at any hardware or paint store.
Katr
Omg I didn’t even think of that. Thank you!
Bluestocking
Maybe post a photo of the name, even if it's worn? Someone might recognize the shape.
