jaxenro
I wanted to show the steps I go through in creating some of my "marble" statues and furnishings. In this case I am basing it on an original circa 1830 English Regency period fireplace carved from pure white statuary marble. This would be suitable for a higher end home or office in the later Georgian, Regency, or Victorian period in England or the corresponding Greek Revival, American Empire, Federal, or Victorian periods in America. Step 1 is to select a suitable original and collect documentation including dimensions. The pictures below are photos of the original not my replica. Step 2 will be to create a 3D model based on the documentation (Note: This is a longer project I wanted to post from the beginning. Updates will be slow in coming) Step 3 is to print the master model in a high detail plastic Step 4 is to create a RTV mold of the master Step 5 is the actual molding using a specific type of ultra fine dental plaster with marble powder added Step 6 is final finishing and polishing of the casting Edited September 10, 2019 by jaxenro
otterine
I'm eager to see how it all works out. I think you've picked a great test piece - nice details and lines.
FurMama
Yes nice piece! And at least you're not spray painting over a Lawbre like I did when I was young and stupid. I kind of miss that adventurous girl though.
