Set square

It all depends. I prefer metal rulers and set squares for most things. But a few times there have been situations where it was nice (especially in smaller scales) to have the transparent kind. Which is quite cheap.

But I vote for metal. There are perfectly strong nice ones in metal for $13 or so. Stanley brand.

Yes it's is the marquetry class in San Jose it's 1/12 size box very small. It's going to be tough it's a two day class.

The only tools they suggest to bring is a set square, a metal 6" ruler and a exact knife.  I'm just not really sure what is best to buy for the set square?

A hardware store is likeliest to have the steel ones.
