IrishMist
Went to an auction today and I got a Harrison kit. It's still in the unopened box with the packing strips on it. Paid all of $15.00 for it! Have been doing the happy dance all evening! Just had to tell someone!

havanaholly
Congratulations on a terrific find & excuse me from the happy dance (it's too early in the AM & the neighbors would complain). Has the kit begun suggesting what it wants to become?
LPCullen
pass whatever ya'll are drinking this way and Ill start rockin' the mini house, too! :o <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yes, definitely, I want some too! Congrats on the Harrison Irishmist! That's one that I like a lot too, even though I am not a tudor style house fan.
IrishMist
I do believe the house is telling me it wants to be a laird's manor house from the mid to late 1500s.....can you tell I'm heavily into Celtic history? My grandfather 10 generations back was Lord Archibald Douglas of Scotland who was married to Henry the VIII's sister Margaret.....may be his house....his hunting lodge? Or maybe the whispers are from whatever we all were drinkin' last night?!?!?!?! :o
Minis On The Edge
What a wonderful find!!! Wow, and your plans for this house sounds absolutely Grand!! :o Ya know I love the tudor houses.

LPCullen
I do believe the house is telling me it wants to be a laird's maonr house from the mid to late 1500s.....can you tell I'm heavily into Celtic history? IrishMist
Hi Linda, No I didn't know your hubby was Irish. Tis a blessing! I have to finish my Columbian and my crofter's cottage, then will start the Harrison.....if I can wait that long! Certainly is giving me incentive..... LPCullen
Not sure if that is a blessing or not Carol. Ever heard that Irishmen are crazy? Well, it fits Jimmy to a T. Wanna know why miniman called him snakecharmer?
IrishMist
OK...I'll bite. Why do they call him that?
havanaholly
Oh, lord, I'm rotflmao all over again; poor Jimmy & that snake! :o
LPCullen
He called him snake charmer because Jimmy decided he would try to pick up a copperhead snake and it bit him on his left index finger (yes, that is a poisonous snake). It turned his finger black, etc., but it is all healed up now ...
Bee
What a nice big house-- but I don't think I've ever seen one furnished. Will you be making the furniture? Bee
IrishMist
Well Linda......never claimed that we Irish are ALWAYS the brightest bulb in the box! Poor Jimmy! Glad to hear he's ok! That sounds like one of those momments when you want to murder 'em for doing it but need to hug 'em 'cause they're ok...... :o And yes Bee, I'll be making the furniture. I got into minis making furniture and chandeliers for a local doll house store to make a little extra cash. Did that for a couple of years before I made my own house. Now I seem to be making a village!
wenlaine
Hi IrishMist , what a great find!! You will love this house. I did mine in a more modern style. The rooms are large so you'll have lots of fun decorating. I can't wait to see what you do with yours. Wendy
MiniMadWoman
Congratulations Carol! Don't you love a bargain! I can't wait to see your progress! I hope we'll be seeing some of your chandeliers inside! :o
