Minis On The Edge
Name the Colors of these words out loud as fast as you can! Green Red Blue Orange Black Purple Was It Hard? Why? Did you know that the left side of your brain works differently than the right side? This is why you might have had a hard time saying the colors. The left side told you to read the words and the right side told you to say the color of the letters! ;)

chesterfieldzoo
I love brain teasers like that. I had one that said to count the number of Es. I counted 4 times and still missed half. The reason being is that your brain does not register an e at the end of a word or something. I'll have to go look for it.
Missymew
Love these brain teasers. Our brains obviously have minds of them own ;) ;) ;) -Susanne

TinyJudi
I have seen this one before. I can read them properly at first, but if I try and do it faster and faster, I mess up.
havanaholly
It's sort of like trying to pat your head and rub your stomach at the same time.
SuzyQ
Do you know I had no trouble with that. I was so focused on reading the words I didn't even notice the colors. LOL I guess one side of my brain isn't working right. Or maybe a blondes brain works differently. LOL LOL LOL
lumberjacksgurl
OMG SUZY!!! you nut the color is what you were supposed to notice not the word lolololo
Anna
Well, I am like Suzy, had no troubles in reading the words correctly, then I started thinking about it and got it all mixed up, I do think however that it is a bit different when one is reading it in a second language, one is sort of more focused on the reading part and decoding??? I also think that the teacher in me gets in the way of actually reading and just reacting to the text? Not sure, but I do know that when we did a similar thing in Swedish I reacted to tthe colour coding more. Hugs and thanks for sharing!
