Minis On The Edge
What are a few common expressions that we use that derive from one of the most universal of fears, "the evil eye"?
tappy
I have heard the expression "giving someone the evil eye", meaning they were giving them a nasty look, not actually handing them the eyeball!! I know it is believed to be a type of curse. That is the only expression I can think of...interesting question, though. Tappy

hydroped
Here's an archaic one "giving him the 'stink eye'" - basically shooting daggers at someone. Also "if looks could kill" perhaps? -David
Deb
~~<singing>~~ Eye put a spell on yooooooooou........beeeeeeeecause you're mine........ <looking around> Oops. Wrong spelling. <scuffing toe in the dirt and blushing> Um, I'm just gonna go back over here to the corner and quietly sand some more window frames. And maybe open a window to air out some of the varnish fumes. Deb
