Barb N
ummmm need you ask LOL I think the weirdest item to date has to be a micro seed pod with ivory stopper that has 3 micro ivory carved elephants inside! ;)
hydroped
Wow, that's a hard question to answer! Addicting - probably lol - for my sis the answer is a resounding YES lol - the weirdest thing I've won from an auction site???... considering that most of the stuff that's normal to me is "wierd" to others makes that really hard to answer. I mostly use them to look for hard to find out of print books. -David
IrishMist
Are auction sites addicting? ;) YEPPERS!!!!!! ;) Wierdest thing I ever bought? hmmmmm...... Probably one of my antique Jays dolls who REALLY looks like a very ugly biker in drag and is leading a rather tipsy looking donkey.... MicroJivvy
>>Do you think Auction sites are Addicting?<< heh-heh, YES. >>What is the crazyiest auction item you won?<< When I was first trying to figure out eBay, I put a really low bid (like a $1.00) on something just to see how it was done. Never dreaming that I would win, but I did. The item? A bizarre set of drinking glasses (cocktail shorties) that had "ice catchers" molded into the glass. The "ice catchers" were glass prongs on the inside of the glass that jutted out towards the center of the glass -- supposedly to keep the ice in the glass and out of your mouth. Some of the prongs were broken... my guess is BY ICE, lol. I think I'd rather swallow ice than SHARDS OF GLASS. I tossed them in the trash. debbie4159
Well of course it's addicting The weirdest thing I ever bought was 30 pounds of rocks. I took a lot of ribbing from friends/neighbors about "who buys rocks"???!!!! Debbie

Of course, I was the type of kid that couldn't keep track of my BIG toys, so goodness only knows what happened to that little treasure, lol. LisaN
Auctions? I love to GO and ATTEND auctions, but they don't hold much charm for me on the internet.........hmmm, but I have seen some weird stuff on auction sites, one was an ebay link someone posted on one of the groups entitled stupid ebay auction--it was a beanie baby stuffed animal that went for ;) $$$ lots of money.... Attending the auctions is exciting because I love to see the variety and stuff. never know what you will see. Haven't actually won anything at an auction, so that's a no on that one. Minis On The Edge
All Right, My friend sent me this link with a song with Weird Al singing about his addiction to ebay. This was so cute, I had to share it with you all Ebay Song Enjoy
havanaholly
DH plays with Ebay. I used to like "live" auctions until the last two we went to were mostly antique dealers, although I did win on a cut crystal bowl for DMIL's collection & four exquisite porcelain dessert plates none of them wanted/ realized what they were. My personal best auction buy was a box of old books that included four years of Workbasket Magazine from the 1950s (Hey Doogster, an ad for correspondence nursing classes said graduates could make up to $1.50 an hour!) and an almost complete set of O. Henry's short stories. My favorite of DH's wins is a copy of Audrey Flack's print, Esperanza, although he won me a Dura-Craft Newberg waiting its turn in the box. Missymew
The E-Bay Song is hilarious ... who doesn't get a buzz out of receiving an ebay package in the mail!! It's like Christmas. Here in Canada (or maybe it's just Edmonton), our Post Office ties multi-parcels together with thick "blue" elastic bands. A couple of ladies that I work with are also ebay shoppers. One collects antique compacts, and the other dolls and miniatures. We greet each other in the morning with "any blue elastics in your mailbox when you got home last night", and then we roar with laughter. Blue elastic bands means that you received more than one parcel. Susanne
wenlaine
Oh Shalean, that doesn't happen here in Ontario. I really don't know how we ever lived without ebay! What did we do? Go without???? BTW, the Ebay Song is great. Wendy
MiniMadWoman
ROTFLMBO!!!!!! That song is hilarious!!! B) It never ceases to amaze me how Weird Al didn't get into mainstream music. He has a fantastic voice (at least I think he does)!! And what an imagination! eBay addicting?!! Well, I've invented a new injury . . . it's called "eBay elbow" and it hurts!!!! My physiotherapist laughed at me when I told him how I hurt my elbow! I, however, am not amused! How am I going to spend endless, wasteless hours on eBay if my elbow hurts?!!

LOL One of the advantages of working for the City of Edmonton is that we have an ergonomics specialist on stafff. He's actually a doctor. He came to office and viewed how I worked, and sent me a report with recommendations .... type of chair I should be sitting in, the angles of my body when I use the keyboard ..... I've switched chairs and re-aligned how my body is situated. It's amazing the difference. Still, if I've been using the mouse too much, I have to take an anti-inflammatory. Small price to pay for the bargains and merchandise I find on ebay. Susanne

havanaholly
Weird Al didn't get into mainstream musicI grew up listening to Homer & Jethro, so naturally I also enjoyed Ray Stevens and Wierd Al, etc. Did anyone watch the interview on "60 Minutes" with Kinky Friedman about his campaign for governor of Texas? if I've been using the mouse too much, I have to take an anti-inflammatory. Careful with that carpal tunnel, y'all!
