Hygge House

Hygge House

Hygge (hoo-gah) is the Danish word for "cozy." It's gotten quite a bit of traction in the past few years as Denmark has gained a reputation for being one of the happiest places to live. A big part of Danish lifestyle is hygge and engaging in hygge activities like chilling on the couch with family, having a nice dinner party with friends, or just sitting and reading a book in your favorite spot. All of the Nordic countries actually share this idea but just have different words for it. There's usually lots of candles, warm blankets, fluffy pillows, and not much "noise." My vision for this project is that it's going to be someone's hygge get away. Something super cozy and chic while also rustic. I want this to be a little house I can decorate year round and maybe keep out since it's so small. Perhaps it can be Santa's hygge house! The man probably needs a rest every now and then :D
