  1. SIR GODFREY'S CASTLE

I found this great little prefab castle which folds together; at Michael's, marked down to $6.25- minus its drawbridge!  Working it 1:24
2024 update:  I have not been diligent working on this.  Honestly, hardly thought about it for a few years.....    I did finish the stained glass windows and some trim.  The kit did not come with the drawbridge, it has a gaping hole on which I have been deliberating.   I wanted a stately bed, but the rooms are so small.

This is one of my dream kits. A friend here helped me take the plunge on a new kit. I have high hopes for this one!

  5. 1/6 scale Guilded Age ILLUSION room box

Had LINEN cabinet using as curio.  Kept thinking it would make a great room box by TURNING the cabinet on its SIDE.    Since the cabinet is holding the TV, minimum 1" square dowels were placed in cabinet to support weight.  Top shelf was stationary and has dowels glued so now unable to remove it.  Plan will work with that 1st left area being an entrance/stairwell.  Took out all shelves to the right and that will be a large narrow room.  Since windows and doors do not open to outside diorama, scenes will be put in doors and window areas for realism.  Hope you will FOLLOW progress on this about 1880-1890 1/6 scale scratch build items Guilded Age project.

  6. Stairway for the McKinley (Turned Kit)

I decided a while back to do my own built-in for the Staircase in the McKinley. I recently formalized the design and made a kit. I will be doing the same for my built-in kitchen cabinetry in the McKinley as well as the Beacon Hill. I hope to design more 'after-market" built-ins that economize the footprint of each room of a variety of dollhouses. But I started with my already-made stairway that includes step storage, an elegant fireplace, and a china cabinet.

  10. The Unknown Colonial

I forget when this arrived in my hands as a kid, but it's the main culprit of why the OG Orchid was left in disrepair for so many years...
The Unknown Colonial was in MUCH better, ready-to-decorate condition at that time, so it received most of my playing focus. However, it and the OG Orchid were retired to my Dad's barn when I "outgrew" them (turns out, to some degree, you never outgrow things you enjoy), and there they suffered.
Now that the OG Orchid is being revived, I figured this one should get some TLC as well. Here we go!

  11. Penelope Renovation (KidKraft)

I saw this well loved dollhouse on the side of the road; it was waiting for the garbage truck. It looked like good bones, so I picked it up. I decided to challenge myself to create a whole new look using the materials I have on hand to renovate this house. The only things I might have to buy are basics like white primer and glues. I think I'm going to get a long string of fairy lights to electrify (another purchase), and I might need more siding. Okay, so already I'm buying stuff. So maybe if I just keep costs to a minimum....

  13. Tizme

My first kit. The Mayfair dollhouse from streets ahead.  Took me ages to paint and get to this point. The stairs are carpeted and have brass Stair rods.

  14. For the love of 1/6 scale

While I began to create building for the love of Barbie, the creativity of building room boxes, 1:12 and 1:6 scale dioramas, furniture, dioramas and dollhouses has become my motivation.  I thank everyone here including but not limited to both 1:6 and 1:12 (and smaller scale) artists who have inspired me to keep creating and growing.  I am so happy to be included in this miniature building community.

  16. Miniatures "Things" I've made

My real life favorite pieces of furniture
replicated in 1:12 scale. I made them the way I wished they looked in real life.
Also many everyday items of things in my house that I use all the time...like the cross stitch cushion that's on my real life rocking chair.....my Da Vinci Accordion and case, it doesn't make music but the bellows really work,
real leather shoulder straps with working buckles and leather wrist strap and working snaps used to keep the bellows locked..
The telescope and tripod are based on the first telescope I had...the tripod legs are adjustable..the telescope is just like the real thing...it angles up and down and rotates 360 degrees....oh and of course it has real glass lenses, the eye pieces can move in or out for better focus and the spotting scope works too!

  17. Miniature Cake Project

Update:  Finally finished my first cake! When I make my other cakes, they won't be as large as this one.
This is the first cake I am in the process of making.  I am using Fimo clay. After cake was assembled, I put in refrigerator to harden, to be able to cut cake slices cleanly with blade. I then texturized inside of cake with a mini poker tool. Baked the cake in oven for 10 minutes at 230 degrees.  Making scalloped icing with mini ball tool.  I put a small dot of Sculpey translucent liquid clay on cake to help icing stay positioned. Once cake is all decorated, I will put back in oven to bake for 20 minutes.

  18. The Irish Cottage

I decided to use an Irish theme for my Orchid Dollhouse kit. It's been a challenge, but a good challenge.

  24. Christmas Tree--2022

This is my Christmas tree I decorated last year.  I used E6000 Extreme Tack to attach the pink ornaments.  I love the bright, battery operated lights.  I can't use these lights this year, the wires started smoking!

I bought two greenhouses from Greenleaf, and now I get to fill them! The beginnings of the décor are courtesy of my great aunt Bonnie.
