The Ginkgo House
The Ginkgo House started out as an architectural model for my own some-day house, but quickly became a 'dollhouse' once I added a few pieces of furniture to double-check traffic flows, proportions and scale, and so on. It is addicting. I am already looking for ideas for my next miniaturist project.
For the walls I have fused together three layers of foam core to mimick the thickness of real walls comlete with framing, drywall, and outdoor siding. For the floor I have fused togethe two layers of fome core glued to 1/2 inch styrofoam. I then wrap everything in glue and newspaper. This makes for a really strong but light weight structure.
I then paint everything in pure white gesso for the 'blank canvas' base to start decorating. The white base also helps with finding any flaws.
The Ginko House is an L-shaped structure with shared spaces (kitchen, dining room, and living room) in one 'wing', and personal spaces (bedrooms, bath, home office) in the other wing. The inside of the L will have a courtyard area for sitting and for entertaining. The outside of the L will be the entrance, and a private garden.
This will be a removable roof style doll house.
Influences and inspirations are mid-century modern mixed in with a little tradtional Japan, Old Mexico, and a dash of Wabi Sabi. Kinda like a blender of my favorite things. I love art and antiques as well as odd found objects, and hope the house will convey all of that, plus make a happy place for a few dolls I am still looking for, or will possibly make.
I am a sponge for any feedback, ideas, experiences the community would like to share

The Briarwood Collective
Building a giant commune for the woodland creatures of Briarwood, is not a simple task. Inspired by The Mouse Mansion by Karina Schaapman, this is a ginormous project I am excited to get started on.

The Belmont Dollhouse
My first dollhouse and kitbash of the Craftsman. I added an extra room box for space and transformed the front with folding doors. I designed and made the furniture, kitchen, faucets, and lights either by hand or by 3D printing/laser. I learned so much with this build!

The Mystic is My First Build-A Greenleaf Brookwood
I began this dollhouse in 2014 and it is very nearly finished. I have made a lot of the furniture and features inside. It is fully electrified and has a custom basement (my husband built the shell and I electrified and decorated it).
