Lots of effort, but it paid off.

It looks neat. I think using art tape or masking tape over the parts you're wanting to leave white helps. I've never tried it because I always forget until it's too late, but it makes sense. This looks good though, way better than I can paint straight lines especially in an hour

I think in this case the freehand painting adds to the overall charm of the Santa house. It's coming together very well.
