Kimono Chest Tutorial by Deb Roberts

The kimono chest traditionally combines storage with beauty. Japanese chests (tansu) became most fashionable in the late 1800’s thru the early 1900’s as a way of making the most of small living spaces without sacrificing beauty.

In miniature, kimono chests add charm to any Japanese decor and are easy and affordable to make. These simple items are easily transformed into a lovely tansu for your Japanese doll’s house or room box.
