pink white rose

blueirishmoon

Asian art nouveau inspired hanging rose silhouetted against the sun, over water. This was a commission for my cousin who lives in Portland, OR. He and his new bride have an older home they told me that this will look good in. I figured they needed some cheerful pink pastels to brighten up their cloudy views. Leaves are a pale seafoam green, hard to see in this picture, rose petals are a handmade Youghiogheny mottled glass, and the sun is spectrum's mimosa. Pale blue waterglass middle, clear baroque swirled background, and pale purple waterglass border. This is the second time I've done this pattern. The first one I liked so much I kept for myself, but that one's rose is more pink.
