Even dollhouses can change their names! Originally I came up with the name Rose Cottage but somehow as the months passed it just didn't seem quite the right name. Since my Garfield will be a pretend Bed & Breakfast, a little cafe named Susan's Kitchen AND an animal sanctuary it all came together once I found some miniature brass horses for my porch sign. The name will be The Prancing Pony and Susan's Kitchen Bed & Breakfast. I've always loved horses and had some very dear horse friends in the past. The brass horses looked liked they were prancing so thus the name prancing pony. But that name seemed to be a familiar one and then it struck me that it was the roadside inn in the Lord of the Rings trilogy. I even looked it up and sure enough it was the name of the inn.

My sign which has yet to be hung up on my Garfield porch is identical on the other side which I did not photograph. The sign will be hanging and both sides will be visible. It was fun but oh those teeny tiny brass letters were not so easy to glue in place! The numbers are actually my own house numbers where I live.
