Playing around with decorations, trying to control myself to not go 'over the edge' with the clutter... I might have added too much already lol.

Gorgeous drapery! love this shot which includes the door in the next room, very nice.

Not easy to get shots from this angle, have to remove the case from my phone and squint a bit hehe ;) thanks

Not too cluttered at all!  Victorian homes were all about excess.  But this is a nice blend of Victorian and contemporary sensibility.

Love it! Especially the rug. For what it is worth, I don't think it looks too cluttered.

Thank you both, I often end up having to remove stuff as I'm easily tempted to go too far... as much as I love clutter I don't want it to overshadow the furniture.

Indeed and I love 'extremelly cluttered' victorian dollhouses, could stare at them for hours admiring all the little details! In this case thou I haven't settled on a 'time period', but I'm feeling inclined towards a modern post-war kind of feel... a 'renovated victorian' for the 20th century.

I don't think it's cluttered either...........but given my workshop I might not be the best judge!..........has anyone seen my cutters!

Lol! the workroom is 'off limits' in my house most of the time.... I have a post-earthquake 'decor' style with a touch of hurricane aesthetic.

May I ask where you got the furniture and painting from?  We are new to dollhouse making and we are starting a half inch scale reproduction 1800s historic New England salt box dollhouse.  I’m getting very nervous about being able to find furniture and accessories for it.

Hi, Pam!  I haven't seen Ashley on the forum in a while (although she may be lurking).  I work exclusively in half scale,so thought I'd chime in, just in case.  The pieces Ashley used are Bespaq.  They are available from a number of sellers, including  https://miniaturecottage.com/shop/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=263_280 and https://www.mountainminiatures.com/.  Be sure to also check eBay.  I frequently do a search for 1:24 miniatures, just to see what's on offer.  I do see a lot of paintings in my search results.   Bespaq can be a bit pricey. Not sure what your price point is.  There is quite a lot of half-scale furniture available as kits, if you are looking to spend a bit less.  Check out https://www.minietchers.com/store/c1/Featured_Products.htmlhttp://sdk.miniature.net/http://karenbensonminiatures.com/shop/, and https://www.petitepropertiesltd.com/1-24th-scale.html (in the UK).

For accessories, Mountain Miniatures and eBay are great.  Also check out https://half-scale-miniatures.com/shop/ and http://www.atriflesmall.co.uk/124th-scale (they are in the UK). I'm not sure where you're located. I know there are some nice furniture kits from Australia (https://www.etsy.com/shop/RedCottageMiniatures) and a nice store in Germany, in case you are not located in the U.S.  Hope this helps!

Thank you!  Oh, thank you!  You are a hero! That price point is fine for us.

Hi. Most of the furniture in this house is from Bespaq, some pieces I made myself and others are from Ken Haseltine, John Baker and Arjen Spinhoven. The painting in this room is by Jim Coates. I have been collecting miniature furniture for a while now, since I took these pictures I have added a few more pieces to this house. It may take a bit of patience to find what you are looking for, try online auctions and miniature fairs, sometimes those are the best places to find good deals. Or ask in specialized stores if you have any nearby, some offer orders by catalogue from wholesale manufacturers and artisans.

Thanks Debs, I am indeed lurking around in between work breaks ;) Sadly not a lot of time to post, I started work on the half-scale Chantily on weekends but haven't updated my galery yet. You are way more experienced in half scale decorating than me, those are really nice suggestions! I would also add that Etsy is great place to find miniature artists and some accept comissions for half scale (even if they don't usually list them, I am never ashamed to ask hehe). I live in europe, I know some stores around here don't ship outside the EU but a Trifle Small does as well as Small Dreams, I'm a regular customer of both for building materials, lighting and furniture. I don't know how annoying customs are in the US, it took me over 1 month to get the Greenleaf Chantily kit with a hefty import tax, but sometimes if you really love something it's worth the extra trouble.

Hi, Ashley!  Glad to see you on the forum.  Sorry your life has been so busy, but really looking forward to seeing your half-scale Chantilly.  That's such a pretty house!

Thank you for this additional information.  I’m heading over to these sites now.
