disassembling I: DH attacks the shingles
The shingles attachment may go faster with hot glue, but several of these were missing or dangling. I had thought to try to salvage the shingles, which are a bit thicker than the shingles I've used lately. DH found his steel putty knife and used it to pry beneath the shingles to loosen them. One unfortunate consequence was a tendency to bring up the occasional bit of plywood layer with it. I soon fount that gently tapping the endof the putty knife's handle with the hammer helped to pop up many more shingles without damaging the underlying wood, but in lifting off the loose sections they brought up some of the next stuck down row of shingles along with bits of plywood.
This is the man who got me started building dh kits!
