LOVE how the vanity turned out! I sanded, painted, cut a hole for a new sink, did a faux granite finish for the top and added new hardware.

This poor vanity and the rest of the set was sort of badly finished. It hadn't been painted very well, and I didn't care for the shallow sink just carved into the wood. I knew I wanted to replace the sink, but the granite and the paint color was a fluke. I had planned to just paint the whole thing blue, but got the idea for the granite at the last minute, so gave it a try. 5-6 colors, thinned down and splattered with an old toothbrush with a coat of high gloss glaze. When all of that was dry, and I removed the masking on the cabinet, it looked pretty good in white, so I just repainted with a flat, creamier shade of white.   I did a bronze wash on the brassy cabinet door pulls, and left the sink hardware chrome. I drilled a hole in the sink and used a scrapbooking eyelet for a drain. I also shortened the toilet tank, and tub and toilet got a good sanding and a few coats of gloss white spray paint. Tub also got an eyelet drain, and toilet got a flush handle, rather than a pull chain. I think with all of the amazing detailed, lifelike miniatures out there, one of my biggest disappointments is the bathroom sets, as they seem to generally be poorly done.
