Elsbeth

This is a 1:48 version of Pepperwood farm. Built from the plans. It has been journey but a good one. Still slowly working towards the finish line. Mostly exterior work now.

It is electrified with tiny warm white LEDs.

What are you building this out of? Is it Mat Board?

It is 4ply mat board and I use a guillotine paper cutter (with self sharpening blade) to cut most of it. So easy to get straight clean cuts with the paper cutter! I tested other methods and that was my favorite. But with practice, I've gotten the hang of the utility knife so I use that for smaller pieces. 4 ply mat board is quite strong. It is 1/16th thick. Pepperwood plan book calls for 1/2" thick wood, which is 1/8th scaled down to 1:48. So I adjusted measurement for 1/16th in some places and in other places I just doubled the mat board to meet the necessary thickness for the plans.

I love mat board. You can experiment and not waste wood. It is pretty great for 1:48. Feels really sturdy to me.
