LibraryBookcaseWall.jpg
The main bookcase wall, with added artwork and some books. I am making the books individually (although I am not putting real pages inside, only mat board), and it’s taking a while. So far, I’ve made over 100 books, and I haven’t even filled half the shelves. (And there’s another bookcase on the left-hand wall.) As much as possible, I am using print-outs of vintage book covers for the books actually in the library: http://www.theodorerooseveltcenter.org/media/Files/Articles/ReadingWriting/1919-Inventory.pdf Most of the spines may not be readable at that scale, but I know they’re there. From my half-scale recreation of the library at Theodore Roosevelt’s summer home, Sagamore Hill. You can see a 360-degree view of the library when you click through the images here (about 6 clicks in): https://artsandculture.google.com/exhibit/nQLiVHOCgDXMJA To read more about the process, please visit my blog at https://thehalfscaleofit.blogspot.com.
