Hermitage stone

Dalesq

A lot of houses in Carmel have sandstone rock in foundations, chimneys, paths, etc. I wanted the sandstone effect and colors. This meant lots of washes, and multiple applications of chalk pastels. And spray fixative, lots of that. I did the foundation stone work and front step and path stones all at once so that I’d have consistent colors. I used heavy egg carton material for all the stone.

They look great!  I love working with chalk pastels!!  You can get such an amazing range of colours and finishes.
