Tudor East Foyer Wall

I'm holding off on the crown moulding until I have enough in stock to ensure that I won't run out before finishing the house.

Wow ! Looks great ! If the pilasters are scratch-built how did you create the grooves - with a Dremel & router bit? If so, was it hard to align the grooves? They look pretty centered & balanced. thumb_yello.gif Are those picture frame moldings on the panels?

Thanks!

The pilasters are scratch built, but I use a layering method since I don't have a mechanized workshop. I produced the effect by cutting 1/32" x 1/8" wood strips for the borders and 1/32" x 1/32" strips for the center verticals. The panels are 1/16 x 1/16 strips with the two leading corners hand sanded to produce rounded edges and a 1/32" x 1/32" strip added along the inside edge to finish the effect.
