sheet of "Super Petals"
My mini review of the Super Petals kit :-)
The Super Petals kit comes in two sheets, they are laser cut. For some reason one sheet is thicker than the other. This is the thicker one, it has a green tint to it, the other sheet is thinner paper and is all white. Both still need to be painted. There is only basic instruction with them, so I wasn't prepared for how fragile they were. This sheet (the thicker one) was easier to deal with because the petals didn't tear as easily, but they did still tear if I wasn't very very careful. I used several different shades of green acrylic paint to paint them...then some pastels and finally a satin gloss and a matte spray. So, a little advice if anyone is considering this kit: Don't use water color or have too much water in your brush, the thinner sheet especially will tear badly with any water on it. Lay down something like freezer paper to paint them on, something they can be lifted off of as smoothly as possible. Be patient and go slooooooow when taking them from the sheet and when painting them. After they are dry and especially after the matte acrylic spray treatment theyre much less fragile and can be played around with, arranged over and over until you reach the look you want. I had enough leaves to do two large hanging plants and two small potted plants for table accents. This kit made me almost cry, but most things that end up turning out kinda cool do make me almost cry so that's Ok. I want to get several more of these, I really like the way they look and theres so many places in the house where I want lush, full plants:-)
