bigger lamp shade

my husband did not like the lamps because the light only shined up, not up and down like a real lamp, I wanted to make the shade bigger anyway, so I took a small clear plastic lid and cut little sections out kept it pretty much in tact so it would support a tea light, it sits inside the shade at would ever height I prefer. I am hoping tonight, when its dark I will see the glow of light underneath the shade
