  1. Thanks for the picture. Funny, I bought that same floor with the thought of using it in the bathroom! Great minds think alike!
  2. You all ROCK!! Thank you so much!
  3. Ok...stupid question....by "skinny sticks" do you mean popsicle sticks?
  4. Thank you so much for the advice and the pictures!! That really helps me! I am determined to make a lot more for this house. My first house was the Orchid and aside from wallpaper (printed on paper from the internet freebies and the floorboards/boarders from scrapbook paper) all furnishings were totally purchased. I have tons of furniture for this new house as I got it as a gift fully furnished but so much of it is old and I want to try my hand at creating my own new things. You all have been very helpful!
  5. thank you suej....I am thinking that wainscoting can be created in the same way!
  6. Sable, thanks for the advice. Yes it is a big house, but I the room that I want the flooring in is not so much (about 11 X 17). The room is much smaller for the wainscoting maybe 7 X 13 (I still have to measure). Sable, do you have suggestions about how you did the flooring?
  7. Hi all. I am looking to make two homemade projects and I am not sure how to go about them. I would like to make a white washed wood flooring and wainscoting (for separate rooms). I would very much like ideas about how to make these things. I don't have any kind of saw that would cut wood, but I can be crafty with paper and other materials that can be cut with an Exacto knife. Thanks ahead for any input you have. I am completely refurbishing a 30 year old Duracraft Farmhouse that I got as a gift.
  8. thank you so much!! I am missing the stairs and a few parts of windows...but I think you are right! Can't wait to fully update it!
  9. Wow! Thanks! I spent the last few nights trying to figure it out on the internet and you came up with the answer in just a few minutes. I think you are correct. Now I just need to figure out how old the house is (1981 was the first model). You ROCK!
  10. Here is a picture of the interior. Please pardon the "remodeling". The wallpaper was peeling and yellowing and I am working on updating it. It also came fully furnished...which is pretty cool!!
  11. I just got this house as a gift from a family member. She bought it from a senior that was downsizing but lovingly created it. I would really love to know what it is. Thank you ahead for your input!
  12. Next question...could someone please tell me how to measure the windows? I am looking into casings and not sure what to measure. Thanks again! Kim
  13. Can someone please tell me the best tool to use to create a window or door where there is none (not that I am putting it in my fling or anything....)? Thanks!
