Palazzo di Venezia - HBS Creatin' Contest 2013
Images added to a gallery album owned by SQUEAKY in Members' Gallery
Palazzo di Venizia depicts a blend of Renaissance, Gothic and Moorish styles that Venetian architecture embodies. The land is soft and buildings are constructed from brick with stucco facing, due to weight, stone is used minimaly as ornate carvings on facades. The nearby island of Murano produces the glass for the arched windows and chandeliers . Since space is limited balconies allow for a breath of air. Wooden beams support the tiled roof, walls are covered in Venetian plaster and frescos. Chimneys are large to prevent fire hazard. Jesters and a minstrel entertain at the masked ball party. I took the photos in the backgrounds on a trip to the "City of Bridges" in 2006. Venice is like no other place on earth and my favorite. My love affair with Venice started in 1984 on my first of 3 trips. -

Never lost power. It is still windy but the worst is over.

We still have power at 11:30 PM. YAH!

Thanks for your caring. We have our hurricane shutters up and did 2 neighbors homes as well. For now it is raining and windy but the worst is due tonight. This will be the 4th hurricane for us since moving to Sunny FL 17 years ago. I have cooked a lot of food from the freezer as we will surely loose power. But we have a big BBQ for cooking on once the worst is over. And hopefully our generator will work; we charged the battery but the diesel fuel is from 11 years ago! We are 9 miles inland from the beach so we don't have to evacuate. Maybe I should cover my dollhouses with big garbage bags...just in case.
