For those of you who were interested, attached are pictures of the thread chest I was talking about yesterday. (See TessII cross stitch thread).

In error I referred to it as Coats & Clark, as you can see, it is JP Coats which I think is pre Coats & Clark.

The pictures don't do it justice. It is more beautiful in person plus my camera isn't that good. :wave:

Yes you are correct JPCoats was the current Coats & Clark. You are lucky to find such a nice piece.

My mother has one of those. I don't remember what brand it is, and it's in Sturbridge, so I can't look at it. There were several in an old store that my father had and sold. The store was an old thread mill. When they sold the building, my mother only took one. I wish I had had a chance to get the rest of them, because they are wonderful!

The one she has, has a lot of carving on it.
