 Well, I can't believe it . . . I finally got a Craigslist dollhouse! I think it is because you had to go to a yardsale to get it. Fortunately for me, the yardsale wasn't in the busiest part of town, which made it a bit hard to find and I guess it helped that she wanted $75.00 for it. I was able to talk her down to $50.00. This house is a scratch-built house, and it is just huge: 41" wide, 36" deep, and 25" high. I am going to have to do SO much work on it, and I won't be able to start any time soon as it is the hacienda's turn to get finished. But, I can see that when I get it done, it's going to be a major house! I tried to put a picture on here, but can't get it to work. So, check it out in my gallery album (miscellaneous houses I own).

It puts me in mind of the out-ot-production GL Worthington (which I WANT, if it ever comes back...)

...thanks for posting the picture for me! How did you get it to do that??? ...

Betcha you tried to load the picture to your post from the same source you used to load it into your album, huh? One of the things I found works for me is to get the picture into the album. Over on the righthand side of the picture under your "description" box there are a series of hyperlinks; one of them is "Image link". If you highlight the entire url and right-click to copy it you can come back to your post and click in your post where you want the image, and when you click on the little image icon you get a box you can paste the image url into. Then when you click "OK" the image will appear in your post.

Hi, Pat . . . Happily, the inside has never been finished - that will make it MUCH easier for me to work with. It is so huge that I think I will be fabricating some extra walls - it has so much depth that it would be ludicrous to leave it the way it is. It is 2 stories high, which is fine but front to back, it definitely needs more room layouts than it currently has. I think I am going to have to get VERY creative with this one. I am going to have to design a layout that not only looks very authentic, but that will still be accessible for the lighting and decor work. Plus, I will definitely be re-doing the exterior: siding that is to scale (what is on it now is handmade and is too large), nicer shutters, some attractive trim, etc. . . I am getting ready to get serious about doing my Mexican hacienda finish work right now, so I will have some time to get my thoughts together on this one before I start on it. You ought to see it in person - it's so big it is almost funny!
